Bob Hartman Guitars, "The Worshiper"
This is my first new guitar in a couple of years and it represents my ongoing experimentation with pickups and sounds. In this case, I wanted to design a guitar that was aimed at players who use their guitar in worship, so the pickups had to be versatile enough to cover the lighter clean sounds but still have the ability to "kick" if necessary, and the Lace Hot Golds were just the ticket. The new Hot Golds have a vintage output in the neck and middle but have a hotter bridge pickup of 13.2K. This allows for a kicking bridge pickup, but still gets the glassy "quack" in the in-between sound of the bridge and middle together. This versatility with the noiseless design of Lace makes a perfect instrument for worship. The stunning white finish with matching headstock serve as a preview of the pure and holy sounds this guitar produces! I chose the very best tuning keys as stock, the Schaller locking keys, because there can be no compromise when it comes to staying in tune. They also add mass to the headstock, improving sustain and allow the tremolo to return in pitch without the use of string trees, which adds to the clean look of the headstock. The satin finished maple neck and fretboard make for effortless playing and the smooth-action tremolo adds just the right "wiggle" for emphasis. Listen to the demo and choose your upgrades below.
